If you love sushi like I do, then the prospect of a 42 piece box will fill you with excitement. The Sushi Shop is capitalising on the excitement surrounding EURO 2016 by releasing a special limited edition box set called the Football Club.
Now I’m not usually one to be swayed by packaging, but the box -designed by French artist Tyrsa is just stunning. Like a particularly solid pizza box , but finished with high quality gloss and killer design, this is the kind of thing that would interrupt the match as it doesn’t go unnoticed.
What’s inside you ask? A veritable feast of sushi favourites old and new – in fact a thoroughly diverse combination diverse enough to keep all fans happy, whether you are team salmon or team tuna; or even supporting the underdog ‘fried chicken avocado’ there is something for everyone here.
Introducing three new recipes, summer is obviously the time to experiment, and Sushi Shop does so with great results. The first new addition is the ‘sunny roll’ which combines sea bream, avocado and miso sauce, and tops it all off with a slice of kumquat. The unique citrus bite to this roll gives zesty flavour that I’ve never experienced with sushi before.
Second up is the ‘smoky roll’ which features smoked mozzarella, shrimp tempura, tonkatsu sauce and 7-spice shichimi. Gorgeous flavour combination, and the thai chives sprinkled on top provide a colourful centrepiece for the box. A sushi with salmon , mayonaise and masago roe completes the new additions.
For times when you want to catch up with friends, either over a football match or in the green of your local park- this is the sharing platter to order.
